Works by Portland artist Justine Lasdin on display at 草榴社区地址 Campus Center through July 29

The 草榴社区地址 is hosting an exhibition of works by Portland-based artist at the 草榴社区地址 Campus Center in Biddeford from June 30 through July 29. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Lasdin鈥檚 work draws deeply from the natural world, exploring the intricate interplay of color, shape, and form found in Maine鈥檚 rich landscapes. Through abstraction and close observation, the artist said she encourages viewers to connect more deeply with their surroundings, seeking beauty in the often-overlooked details of everyday environments.
鈥淢y work captures the unique interplay of colors, shapes, and lines that emerge when we take the time to truly observe our surroundings,鈥 Lasdin said. 鈥淏y highlighting the subtleties of diverse landscapes, I hope to evoke a sense of curiosity and wonder.鈥
Originally from the San Francisco area, Lasdin studied sculpture and drawing at California College of the Arts and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Humboldt State University with a focus on painting and photography. After a career in visual design and raising her child, she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Maine College of Art and Design and now teaches at the Middle School of the Kennebunks while continuing to maintain an active studio practice.
